Mazda Motor Corporation’s production and sales results for March 2007 and for fiscal year (FY) 2006 are summarized below:

I.Production

Note: As of January 2007, overseas production figures are based on Mazda brand units coming off the production line (does not include CKD units).

1. Domestic Production
(1) March 2007
The domestic production volume was below the figure for the same month last year, down 2.2% compared to March 2006. Production volumes of commercial vehicles such as the Bongo truck were lower than last year, but production of the Mazda3 was healthy.

(2) FY2006
For the fifth consecutive year since FY2002, the fiscal year domestic production volume has exceeded that of the previous year, up 7.0% over FY2005. This is a reflection of a rise in production of the CX-7, Mazda3 and Mazda5 models. It was the best result in 13 years since FY1993.

2. Overseas production
(1) March 2007
The overseas production volume was below the figure for the same month last year, down 17.7% from March 2006. Reduced production of the Mazda6, among other models, led to the result, despite steady production of the BT-50 pickup truck.

(2) FY2006
Overseas production was below the figure for FY2005, down 11.9% year-on-year. Production of the BT-50 was brisk, but production of the Mazda6 and Tribute were reduced.

II. Domestic sales

(1) March 2007
The domestic sales volume was below the figure for the same month last year, down 13.2% compared to March 2006. This result reflects fewer sales of commercial vehicles and the Mazda2, although sales of the Verisa and CX-7 were brisk.
Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 5.7%, down 0.1 points over March 2006, with a 2.4% share of the micro-mini segment (down 0.2 points) and a 4.5% total market share, down 0.2 points over the same month last year.

(2) FY2006
The domestic sales volume for FY2006 was below the figure for FY2005, down 9.1%. This reflects lower sales volumes of commercial vehicles and the Mazda2 and Mazda6 models compared to the previous fiscal year, despite brisk sales of the Mazda3.
Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 5.8%, down 0.2 points from last year, with a 2.6% share of the micro-mini segment (down 0.1 points year-on-year) and a 4.6% total market share, down 0.3 points over FY2005.

III. Exports

(1) March 2007
Exports have exceeded the figures from the same month of the previous year for 20 consecutive months since August 2005, with March 2007 increasing 14.4% over March 2006. This increase was led by the addition of CX-9 exports and an increased Mazda3 export volume. Exports in March 2007 recorded the best March result in the last 13 years since 1994.
On a market basis, exports for North America were particularly healthy, reaching 27,030 units (up 24.9% year-on-year) mainly due to an increased export volume of the Mazda3.

(2) FY2006
For the sixth consecutive year since 2001, fiscal year export figures have exceeded those of the previous year, up 15.2% year-on-year in FY2006. This result is attributable increased export volumes of the CX-7, Mazda3 and Mazda5 models. FY2006 results were the highest fiscal year export volume in 14 years since FY1992.
On a market basis, increased exports of the CX-7 and Mazda3 helped the figure for North America reach 307,423 units (up 40.1% year-on-year).
